No matter what age your dog is, learning something new is always something they will appreciate. Training them to learn new tricks not only enhances their mental and physical development, but they also consider it a fun way to bond with you. The treats they get along the way are also a plus. Here are some of the easiest tricks you can teach them.

1. Kiss.
   Start by holding a treat close to your face and saying the command “kiss”. As your dog reaches to grab the treat, move your face towards their nose until they gently kiss you on the cheek. Move away before he starts licking your face. Redo the training until they learn to touch your face with their nose to get a treat.

2. Shake hands.
   Your dog will naturally use their paw to get your attention. Hold some treats inside your hand and present them to your closed fist. When they use their paw to touch your hand, begin using the command “shake” until they learn to associate the action with the command.

3. Stand up.
   When your dog is sitting down, hold a treat on the level of their nose. Slowly bring the treat up to encourage them to stand up and reach it. When your dog is standing up on their hind legs, use the command “stand” and give treats.

4. Spin.
   Hold a treat in front of the dog’s face and slowly move it towards the side then the back of their head so they will have to turn their head to reach it. Do a full circle and use the command “spin” once they spin to get the treat.

Remember that treats, praises, and enthusiasm go a long way in training your dog. So be sure to always be in a good mood when starting a training session. Sessions should not last for more than 10 minutes for better learning.
