Do you want to adopt a dog but are deathly allergic to it? No need to deprive yourself of the joy of having a furry friend because there are hypoallergenic dog breeds out there! If you have pup allergies, there are some breeds you can own which are less likely to stimulate allergic reactions.
But remember that adopting a dog when you are allergic is a health risk. There are no one-hundred-percent hypoallergenic dogs, and your immune system will always be susceptible to an uproar when you own one. To help you, here are some hypoallergenic dog breeds you can look into:

First on the list is the Basenji. Basenjis are intelligent, poised, and catlike canines that you can own if you have pup allergies. Because they are smaller than the average dog with low levels of shedding and drooling, your immune system is less likely to suffer from allergic reactions than most dog breeds.
In terms of cleanliness, Basenjis are relatively low-maintenance. They are neat and groom themselves well enough that you do not need to bathe them regularly. That is why they are called catlike—they like to lick themselves clean! Just take note that Basenjis are very energetic. When left alone and bored, they will chew your stuff.
Despite dog allergies, you can still own the majestic, white-coated Maltese. They are small, non-shedding pups with low drooling activity. And so, you are less likely to suffer from irritating reactions with less dander and saliva contact.
In contrast with their small stature, Malteses have a lot of energy and affection to give. They are also intelligent, which makes them easy to train. Furthermore, they are great companions for people with pup allergies because they like the indoors. Thus, they are less likely to be dirty!
If you love loyal and extroverted hypoallergenic dogs, then Miniature Schnauzers are a good choice. Similar to the previous breeds, they do not shed and drool much. With lesser dander and saliva, there are also fewer allergic reactions.
But do note that Miniature Schnauzers may be more susceptible to various health problems than most breeds. They could develop kidney or bladder stones and cardiac, dental, and visual ailments. But as an overall hypoallergenic dog, they are great to keep in your home.

One of the most commonly owned dog breeds is the energetic and thick-coated Shih Tzus. Despite their long, silky fur, they shed way less than average. They also do not drool much, making them a suitable breed for pet owner-hopefuls with pup allergies.
The breed makes terrific pets because they are affectionate and low-maintenance. They love a good cuddle with their fur parents too! And much better, since Shih Tzus have less dander than usual, your cuddles will be comfortable and allergy-free!
Pet dander, saliva, and urine are the main culprit of pup allergies. Yes, dog breeds are less likely to trigger reactions, but the health risk is never zero. Remember to always keep clean and stock up with over-the-counter antihistamines so you can cuddle your furry friend with fewer worries of allergic reactions in mind.
